Update on the Cats at the Clara Barton Rest Stop

Thank you to all who contacted the NJ Turnpike Authority. ACR did receive an email from the Authority stating that they are NOT trapping and killing the cats, however, they do discourage their employees from feeding the cats. ACR is still working on finding a local rescue group to help organize a TNR program.

That's great news!
Please let us know how we can help your organization find a home for these cats.

Thanks to everyone who wrote in to us about this issue. We certainly appreciate the concern you showed as well as the respect with which you went about it. We were happy to set the record straight and hope that we can find an organization to help with the cats -- we are certainly open to it.

Thanks again, all your members were a pleasure to deal with.

I was just there last Sunday to set up two feral villas at the rest area I had built to provide shelter for the cats from the cold. I hope noone throws them away. I plan to go back and rescue cats that use the shelter. I rescued one last year, her name is Krystal and she lives with me and is the sweetest cat.
